Persatuan Pandu Puteri Malaysia (PPPM) menyambut Hari Peringatan Sedunia bertemakan “Our World, Our Thriving Future” (Dunia kami, Masa Depan yang Maju), bertempat di Dewan 2020 Kangar Perlis.
Persatuan Pandu Puteri Malaysia Cawangan Perlis telah dipilih sebagai tuan rumah Sambutan Hari Peringatan Sedunia Peringkat Kebangsaan Tahun 2024 .
Seramai 1,000 orang memeriahkan sambutan tahun ini.
Cawangan -cawangan di seluruh negara telah menghantar peserta masing-masing untuk menyertai pertandingan yang dianjurkan.
Penaung Diraja Persatuan Pandu Puteri Malaysia, KDYMM SPB Raja Permaisuri Agong, Raja Zarith Sofiah berkenan mencemar duli merasmikan program Hari Peringatan Sedunia 2024 Persatuan Pandu Puteri Malaysia (World Thinking Day 2024 - Our World ,Our Thriving Future) dengan penuh gemilang .
Penaung Diraja Persatuan Pandu Puteri Malaysia Cawangan Perlis, Duli Yang Maha Mulia Tuanku Tengku Fauziah Binti Almarhum Tengku Abdul Rashid, Tuanku Raja Perempuan Perlis, Yang Amat Mulia Che' Puan Mahkota Khaleeda Johor, Duli Yang Teramat Mulia, Tuanku Dr. Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, Tuanku Raja Puan Muda Perlis, Yg Dipertua PPPM dan isteri kepada Perdana Menteri, YAB Dato Seri Dr. Wan Azizah binti Dr. Wan Ismail, Isteri kepada Menteri Besar Perlis, YABhg Puan Najwa bt Othman, Timbalan Yg Dipertua PPPM, YM Dato' Tengku Hj. Shireen binti Tengku Suleiman, Ketua Pesuruhjaya PPPM, Dato’ Yeoh Soo Keng, Pengarah-Pengarah Jabatan Pendidikan Malaysia dan Perlis, Pengetua-Pengetua, Guru Besar – Guru Besar, PK Ko-ko Sekolah Negeri Perlis adalah di antara tetamu-tetamu terhormat yang turut hadir memeriahkan program tersebut.
Enam pertandingan telah direka berdasarkan tema-tema yang memenuhi matlamat pembangunan mampan dan lestari United Nations (17 SDG) dan telah diinspirasi oleh prinsip-prinsip SDG 3 (kesihatan dan kesejahteraan yang baik), SDG 7 (tenaga lestari dan berharga perpatutan), SDG 11 (bandar dan komuniti yang mampan), SDG 12 (pengeluaran dan penggunaan sumber secara bertanggungjawab), SDG 13 (bertindak untuk kebaikan cuaca), SDG 14 (kehidupan di bawah laut dan sumber air yang sihat), SDG 15 (kehidupan di darat yang sihat), dan SDG 17 (pembentukan perkongsian untuk mencapai matlamat masa depan yang lestari dan mampan).
Ahli-ahli PPPM dari seluruh negara yang terdiri daripada Pandu Puteri Tunas , Pandu Puteri Remaja dan Renjer, Kadet, Klover dan Trefoil Guild menyertai pertandingan yang bertujuan untuk memberi peluang untuk menjayakan tema Hari Peringkatan Sedunia 2024 iaitu "Dunia Kita, Masa Depan yang Maju" .
Bagi pertandingan “Mencintai Alam Sekitar” melalui penghasilan seni kolaj, para peserta dicabar untuk membina seni menggunakan bahan terbuang seperti penutup botol dan bahan-bahan lain yang boleh dikitar semula.
Peserta-peserta yang terdiri dari Pandu Puteri Remaja dan Renjer mengambil bahagian dalam Pertandingan 3R Princess. Pertandingan ini mencabar peserta menggayakan pakaian daripada bahan-bahan kitar semula. Antara bahan-bahan yang digunakan untuk pertandingan ini adalah bahan-bahan kitar semula seperti kertas tisu, plastik terbuang, botol air mineral, kertas surat khabar direka secara kreatif menjadikan pakaian dan digayakan oleh Pandu Puteri.
Pertandingan Make Me Breakfast merupakan pertandingan memasak sarapan oleh Persatuan Pandu Puteri. Para peserta menyediakan sarapan pagi yang sihat dan seimbang berdasarkan SDG 3 dari bahan-bahan yang mudah diperolehi dan penyediaan yang cepat dan ringkas. Semasa menjalankan pertandingan ini, kerjasama kumpulan, kreativiti dan kebersihan serta Kesihatan amatlah dititikberatkan.
Environmental Sketch adalah pertandingan melukis dan mewarna disertai oleh Pandu Puteri Tunas sahaja. Pertandingan ini adalah pertandingan berkumpulan dan memerlukan kreativiti yang tersendiri dalam mengendalikan hasil karya pada sekeping kain putih. Hasil lukisan amatlah menggalakkan dan boleh dibanggakan.
Satu lagi pertandingan yang menarik ialah kemahiran mengukur kelapa (Kukuq Nyoq) dan menganyaman ketupat riben oleh wakil Guild Trefoil.
Seramai lebih daripada 1,000 hadirin akan membawa prinsip-prinsip dan contoh teladan Hari Peringatan Sedunia 2024 ke seluruh pelusuk negara.
Girl Guides Association Malaysia World Thinking Day Celebrations 2024

The Girl Guides Association of Malaysia (GGAM) celebrated World Thinking Day 2024 with the theme "Our World, Our Thriving Future", at Dewan 2020 Kangar Perlis.
The GGAM Perlis Branch has been chosen as the host of the national celebration of World Thinking Day.
A total of 1,000 people joined in this year's festivities and celebration with branches across the country sending their respective participants to participate in the organized competition from the various categories of Girl Guides.
The Royal Patron of the Girl Guides Association of Malaysia, Queen of Malaysia, Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, led the congregation in officiating the inauguration of the Malaysian Girl Guides Association's World Thinking Day 2024 program (Our World, Our Thriving Future) in full regalia and glory .
Her Majesty Tuanku Tengku Fauziah Binti Tengku Abdul Rashid, Tuanku Perempuan Raja Perlis, Her Highness Che' Puan Mahkota Khaleeda Johor, Her Highness, Tuanku Dr. Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, Tuanku Raja Puan Muda Perlis, President of GGAM and the wife of the Prime Minister, YAB Dato Seri Dr Wan Azizah binti Dr. Wan Ismail, Wife of the Chief Minister of Perlis, Pn. Najwa binti Othman, Vice President GGAM & President of GGAM Perlis Branch, YM Dato' Hajah Tengku Shireen binti Tengku Suleiman, GGAM Chief Commissioner, YBhg. Dato’ Yeoh Soo Keng, The officers of the Education Ministry of Malaysia and the state of Perlis, Principals, Headmasters, and Co-curriculum Heads of Perlis State Schools were among the dignitaries who were also present to enliven the program.
Six competitions were organized to enliven this national level celebration.
All competitions have been designed based on WAGGGS themes that meet the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
Among the 17 SDGs that inspired and guided the planning of activities for the World Day of Thinking for GGAM were the principles of SDG 3 (good health and well-being), SDG 7 (affordable and clean energy), SDG 11 (sustainable cities and communities), SDG 12 (responsible consumption and production), SDG 13 (climate action), SDG 14 (life under water), SDG 15 (life on land), and SDG 17 (partnerships for the goals).
All GGAM members from Brownies, Girl Guiders, Rangers, Cadets, Clovers, and the Trefoil Guild participated in competitions aimed to provide opportunity to bring to life the essence of the “Our World, Our Thriving Future", theme of the day.
For the “Loving the Environment” competition through the production of collage art, the participants were challenged the to build art utilizing discarded materials such as bottle caps and materials- other recyclable materials.
The participants consisting of Girl Guides and Rangers took part in the 3R Princess Competition. This competition prompted participants to come out with innovative and amazing style dan designs inspired by sustainability as a theme. The contestants created interesting clothes from recycled materials such as tissue paper, discarded plastic, mineral water bottles & newspaper.
The Make Me Breakfast competition is a breakfast cooking competition organized by the Girl Guide Association. The participants with SDG3 in mind prepared a healthy and balanced breakfast from easily available ingredients through quick and simple preparations. During this competition, group cooperation, creativity, hygiene and health are emphasized and was clearly evident from all participants.
Environmental Sketch is a group drawing and coloring competition that demanded unique creativity in handling the final art piece on a single piece of white cloth. The results of the submitted final paintings were very encouraging and a point of pride for all who took part.
Another interesting competition is the skill of measuring coconuts (Kukuq Nyoq) and weaving ketupat ribbons for Trefoil Guild Members. A unique contest that champions tradition but interspersed with recycled materials and sustainability as an angle to preserve tradition and culture that should still be relevant and preserved today.
More than 1,000 attendees will carry forward the principles and examples set during World Thinking Day to all corners of the country.
