I could not express in words how i am truly blessed and thankful for having to receive this amazing award. I really like to express my gratitude to everyone who had supported me in helping me to get this award especially my family, teachers and friends. Queens guide had changed my personality in being more matured in the way of thinking and perspective of life. I was very grateful to god for giving me this path of life ive never imagined i could be in .

A roller coaster ride it is, tears drop in silent, a journey to be a Queen’s guide needs a really tough girl guide because it is very difficult and challenging. My grandmother who is also a girl’s guide since she was young till now and she is also the Yang Dipertua Pandu Puteri Cawangan Kelantan, had been persuading me to join the queens guide since i was in form 1 and at that time i was not very sure about it as im scared that it will effect my studies. Being a queens guide had been my childhood dream. My mother , Nik Azrina had always supported me in whatever i do as long as im happy with it, so my mother agreed with my grandmother about taking this programme. At first why i wanted to be a queens guide is because i like to collect badges and i was jealous in seeing others with their badges and also i was being informed that it will make my curricular marks the highest achievement which make the chances of getting a scholarship after my SPM examinations would be greatly heightened. Once i heard that my mom said being a queens guide could help me to be more confident in myself, learn in being a true leader and being more prepared in what ever situation im facing, i had thought back that i want to change myself to be a better me

I have always been scolded by my mother because i always put negative mindset. I do not like doing that, doing this and it had made me very stress with life until i cannot control my mind in thinking i could not achieve something big like others do. My secondary school is at SMK Dato’ Ahmad Maher, Kota Bharu, Kelantan. I joined the girl guides association since form1. In the first meeting a teacher, Puan Haslina had been talking and persuading us in joining the queens guide programme as it will give lots of benefits to ourselves. Many people was not really interested as they thought it was just wasting their money and time but i told my teacher that i wanted to be one of the queens guide and that i want to participate every events or camping that will be held. From form 1 until form 3 i had been joining lots of campings and had taken many practical test. Ive gained lots of experience in cooking, doing my own laundry and also sewing. Every time my teacher offered to join an activity to the girl guides association, i would be the earliest racing up my hands. At this time i still can cope with my studies. Before receiving my PT3 result, i had been thinking in proceeding my studies in MRSM Pengkalan Chepa which is a boarding school and it is known as one of the top MRSM (BITARA) and i thought that it will help me become more successful in the future because being one of the MRSM students will have high chances to get a scholarship too. Thankfully i had gotten straight A’s in PT3 and i was offered to MRSM Pengkalan Chepa. I was very excited about it. I had taken that offer and in form 4 i had been transferred into that school.

At this time i felt like giving up in proceeding my queens guide programme as i was very not confident of myself that i can balance my studies and queens guide because MRSM Pengkalan Chepa is a school which really cares about academic results the most other than curricular activities, so you have to really have good grades and maintain your pointer in order to survive in that school. Im very aware about that there are many genius student in that school. I started to hold a position called Badan Wakil Pelajar (BWP) that is more likely as a prefect in school. Not many students applied to be one of the BWP because they know they cant take high responsibility and also they are scared if their academic result will drop as working as a BWP really need a lot of commitment in handling every programme or events held by the school. Before i had taken the BWP, I had actually been thinking that if i were to take this position, how would i balance my studies, handling BWP work as well as handling queens guide works but my heart tells me that i can do it , that i have to learn handling stress, learn to be a better leader, that i have to create best memories and experiences as a teenager. Going in and out of the school is not that easy, so i had to confront with the Deputy Principal of Academic Excellence , Mr Rahizad Bin Hashim, Deputy Principal of Students Development, Mr Ahmad Hisyam Bin Mustafa, in discussing of me proceeding this programme. On the other hand, i also had been discussing about going in and out for my weekly Piano Lessons as i will be sitting for my Grade 8 ABRSM in August 2019. They were very understanding and cooperative, without their support i could not had been able to proceed this journey but with this approval i was given a condition, i had to maintain my result and must get pointer above 3.5 only then, i can go out whenever i pleased. I was not born to be genious so i must work hard but thank god in every exam i could manage to pass the minimum pointer, that condition given makes me stressful because im scared i cannot manage my time very well but my mother always say that i have to go for it, challenge myself, believe that i can do it. ‘you can do it ainna!’- this words makes me stronger.

I remembered when the time i had to struggle finishing my three log books, Log Peribadi, Log Permit Perkhemahan and Log Bintang Puteri II. I didnt have much time doing it as i was busy studying for exams. The most hardest log to finish up was Log Permit Perkhemahan because it was very new to me and other queens guide and teachers. It was really interesting because it was a really big task for me and my team as we had to plan everything by ourselves. Furthermore, while going through the Log Peribadi,i was amazed with my own achievements. I didnt realised that i had quite a few certificates and awards from school level to internationals.

My three months project was one of the challenging yet memorable moments. Through this task i have learned to socialise with society especially within my neighbourhood such as babysitting and washing cars.I had to find time to raise fund in my school and outside of school. I had been doing hostel chores for my friends as one of the ways to raise fund for my service project. Gladly MRSM Pengkalan Chepa has helped me a lot in this project. It went smoothly with the helped of my family, teachers and my current school. I told one of my teacher adviser, Puan Zawiah about me joining queens guide. She was very happy of it because there has never been a queens guide from a MRSM student so she was very supportive and helped me a lot so that i can achieve the award. Im Very thankful that my log books are accepted and my three months project is finished.

Before Bengkel Selalu Sedia (BSS) i have to bring my report of the three months project in two hard copies and prepare a presentation powerpoint. Unfortunately a day before flying to Malacca i noticed and i was very shocked to know that my pendrive had been infected by virus. Many of my photos ive put had gone. I was clueless that time , felt like i had no hope to pass the BSS test. When in Malacca i tried to put things back in order but i could not find what had really happened. I called my mother and uncle but they were also shocked because they had never experience that kind of a virus. My mother told me to just present it using the hard copies. The night before the presentation i did not sleep at all just to redo my powerpoint but unfortunately the whole thing disappeared. I actually thought at that time i had failed my queens guide, ive lost hope. Ive kept my powerpoint in two pendrives but i was scared to open it. Luckily My presentation could be open eventhough it was not full when my friend Nurul Izzah lend me her laptop and at that moment i realised my laptop was the main problem although it was new that my father bought just for this service project. After i have presented my project i cried, because i thought i have let my family especially my grandmother and mother down but i still pray to god that it will be fine. The second day was really a blessing. I did really well in knotting and first aid test. After a month of BSS i got a message from my teacher and she said ive passed the BSS and i will be receiving the queens guide award. I was truly speechless and was very happy. Finally my hard work paid off. After all the obstacles, i managed to handle it.

At the award ceremony, i think i was the highlight of that day as im the only one representative from MRSM and coincidentally MRSM is the host for this year. I was truly honored because i was chosen to be the one giving a bouquet of flowers to the Permaisuri Agong when she arrived at the award ceremony. I also remembered there is one event , Thinking Day, at IPG, Kelantan that i was also chosen to be one helping giving out the prizes ‘dulang girl’ to the Permasuri Agong . It was a unforgettable experiences. To all girl guides out there i just want to tell you guys, no matter where you are studying, it will not stop you from being a queens guide because where there is a will, there is a way. Queens guide is a very big oppurtunity for girls out there to shine up yourself and learn to become an awesome person. Queens guide made me a more positive thinking girl, more independent, more responsible and taking fast actions. Remember to always be prepared. i would like to thank once again to my family, teachers, friends and EXCO Persatuan Pandu Puteri Malaysia Cawangan Kelantan.
